St. Peter’s Outreach Commission seeks to play its own small part in assisting those who are burdened by systemic issues around housing and healthcare. In doing so, the Commission partners with several local relief organizations.

Church Housing, Corp. provides low-income housing to the elderly and those with special needs in Chester and Delaware counties. Church Housing Corp. provides residences for seniors over the age of sixty-two who meet the income limits and are able to live with limited support.

Church Housing, Corp. also has facilities for individuals who are homeless and who have mental illness, as well as for individuals with HIV/AIDS. There are multiple special needs housing facilities in Chester County. At St. Peter’s, parishioners provide books for the lending library, shop for numerous Christmas gifts, serve on the Board, provide prayer shawls, and volunteer to help with Tuesday night meals or a special dinner at a holiday.

The Clinic is a comprehensive medical clinic providing medical care in Phoenixville for the un- or under-insured. This facility also offers a summer camp for youth, ages twelve to fourteen, who are interested in medical or healthcare careers. Nurse volunteers are particularly needed. At St. Peter’s, parishioners collect and provide bags of basic medical supplies and food.

Good Works, Inc. is dedicated to restoring hope by repairing homes in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Volunteers from St. Peter’s and the wider community gather every second Saturday to extend the love of Jesus Christ to low-income homeowners within the Phoenixville-Spring City corridor, by making their homes warmer, safer, and drier. Repairs may extend for months allowing all who are involved to develop deeper relationships.
